ROAF Mission: The defense of the national airspace with air-air and ground-air means, the support of the other categories of forces and of the local authorities in emergency situations.

The Romanian Air Force is equipped with F-16 Falcon, Mig 21-Lancer fighter jets, Spartan, Hercules and Antonov research and transport planes, IAK, IAR school planes and a fleet of helicopters composed of IAR, Puma and IAR Puma aircraft. SHOCKED. It also has Patriot systems, Hawk and Volkov missile systems and a variety of anti-aircraft artillery devices.
